Green Inspirations

I am inspired each day by all the many good souls who refuse to be let down by all the negativity that surrounds our future on this beautiful planet we all live on. I look around and see so much potential for happiness, a life away from consuming everything in our paths. This new world has communities again and it has neighbors sitting on their stoops engaging each other in conversation, laughing and sharing. In these communities there are also huge gardens providing fresh produce for everyone, and people will be once again connected with the food they eat. My dreams see a simpler more peaceful life, one filled with purpose again.

On this website I will share my findings of all incredible individuals out there who are creating, speaking out and leading the way to our new earth.

Illuminares Lantern Festival this weekend!

Today I'm going to be working on a recycled paper lantern for the Illuminares Lanterns Festival at Trout Lake's John Hendry Park, near Commerical Drive. This will be my first year attending the local celebrations, where I have heard hundreds of handmade paper lanterns turn up to light the park. The event is put on by the Public Dreams Society this Saturday July 28th from 7pm until 10:30pm.
The deal is you bring your own handmade lantern with you, or five for that matter, the more the better! This year the theme is Drive in Dreams, which comes from the dreams of the locals living in and around Commerical drive. People come and hang their creations from the trees for others to admire and to set the mood. There are fire dancers, clowns and a general circus like atmosphere to add entertainment for the young and old. This seems like a great, free community event that will spark the imagination and bring out the kids in all of us. So if you are looking for a fun, interesting event, besides the fireworks, come on down and don't forget your lantern!
